Nagasaki Day Tour

Kari and I signed up for a Nagasaki tour through the Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) organization on base. At 7am we boarded a bus and headed to one of the most historic cities in Japan. It was fascinating to see all the history in the city. Everywhere we went we saw signs for peace and harmony. For lunch, we went to the oldest Chinatown in Japan. Kari had the fried rice and I had the popular bowl call Champon. Champon is a common meal with noodles, pork broth, cabbage, carrots, bean sprouts and fish, in form of a paste, all put into a large bowl. It was filling as well as tasty! After lunch we traveled up a hill and took a cable car to the very top of Mt. Inasa. The view was absolutely breathtaking. You can see the entire city of Nagasaki and some of the outer lying islands surrounding it. Our last stop was a Chinese Temple which was small, but included many historical artifacts. We especially enjoyed the Coi fish.
